How is AI transforming the world of MSMEs in Retail, and what are the competence needs within the industry to enhance the adoption of AI systems? Answers to these questions will be explored during the co-creation workshops we are organising in Italy, Romania, Poland, Germany and Cyprus. These events are part of a broader research activity led by the Digital Economy Lab at the University of Warsaw in the scope of our project. This research will lead, in July, to a publication on the AI skills needs and gaps for entrepreneurs and workers in the sector. Based on this study, we will develop training programmes and materials in the following stages of the project.

Who

The expected participants in the co-creation workshops include the following:

• Relevant chambers of commerce representatives;
• Trade unions with branches representing the retail sector;
• Employers and employees of small and medium-sized retail enterprises;
• Specialized retail consultants;
• Technology experts;
• Academics researching the respective country's retail sector.

When

Two workshops will be organised online in each partner country in April and May 2024:

• Cyprus: 14 and 16 May, hosted by the University of Cyprys;
• Germany: 23 and 24 April, hosted by the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Germany;
• Italy: 5 and 22 April, hosted by Lascò and BSD;
• Poland: 8 April and 9 May, hosted by the Digital Economy Lab of the University of Warsaw;
• Romania: 9 and 25 April, hosted by Team 4 Excellence.

How

Each workshop will last approximately three hours. They will be held in English and facilitated by experts from the Digital Economy Lab of the University of Warsaw, with the support of local partners. The activities will involve the active engagement of participants in a dynamic exchange of ideas and experiences.
